The hype starts around 2 weeks prior to the event and limited edition cask strength bottles start to do the rounds of the bars and Ardbeg Embassy’s around the world. On Ardbeg day we get to the smoky tasty goodness that is Ardbeg and realise which friends we share this intriguing taste profile with. Then after Ardbeg Day we are graced with another limited edition bottling of the Ardbeg Day release however this one is bottled at 49.9% abv instead of cask strength and in this whiskies case, an absolute gem. This years release was named Auriverdes, the name coming from auri (gold, representing the colour of the whisky) and verdes (green, the colour of Ardbeg’s bottles and brand). Matured in American oak casks which were specially toasted for this release. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Smoked bacon, mocha, vanilla, popping candy and lemon zest. Taste: Bacon and brown sugar. Medicinal and smokey. Finish: It’s long and delicious, smoked meats, chocolate and slightly ashy.. For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
