The stories releases embark on a historical celebration of whisky previously created at the distillery. For The Second Red Rose, Balvenie’s Malt Master David Stewart chose to finish the whisky in Australian Shiraz casks, imparting a whole host of ripe fruit notes, touches of blackberry and peach, a helping of rich oak, and of course, a rosy hue. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Ripe orchard fruits, sweet tropical fruits and subtle oak. Taste: Autumn berries of gooseberry, blackberry and boysenberry, ripe orchard fruits of peach and apricot, beautifully balanced oak and soft spices of freshly cracked black peppercorns and soft oak spice Finish: Long and memorable, softy berry sweetness, lingering oak and gentle spice.  .
