Bunnahabhain 2008 Manzanilla Cask Matured 11 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) Volume: 700ml           ABV: 52.3%           Age: 11 Years Old           Country: Scotland The Bunnahabhain Distillery is the most northerly and remote on the island of Islay and was opened in 1883 to make use of excess grain from local farmers. The name Bunnahabhain translates as ‘mouth of the river’ and if you ever visit will see that the distillery is built near the mouth of the River Margadale which flows into the Sound of Islay. Pronounced Bú-na-ha-venn, this Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky is quite distinct from the many others on the island, given the wonderfully gentle taste profile for which it is known. Water is piped in from from Margadale Springs and the whisky is distilled twice in the distillery’s unusual pear-shaped pot stills A limited release bottling from the Bunnahabhain Distillery which sees unpeated malted barley being used for distillation. After a full maturation in ex Manzanilla Sherry casks for no less than 11 years the whisky is bottled at 52.3% ABV. This whisky is extremely rich and chewy with lots of sweet caramel and dried fruits notes. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Shouts Christmas cake with raisins and sultanas, fresh malty notes, espresso and rich creamy toffee. Palate: Millionaire shortbread, festive spices, red berries and sticky date pudding. Finish: Snickers bars, raisins and sultanas deliver a long finish.  . For adults of legal drinking age.
