It is the oldest and most beautiful distillery in the Highlands of Scotland. To be named a blended Scotch whisky the item must contain single malt Scotch whisky and single grain Scotch whisky. The Chivas Regal 12 years old, and 18 years old are blended using a process called triple blending. The Master Distiller selects the appropriate single malts and these are blended together. He/She then takes the appropriate single grain whiskies and blends these together. The final part of the process the vatted malts and the vatted grains are combined to create a whisky which is rich, smooth and exceptionally flavoursome. Chivas Regal Extra in made from whiskies that have been matured in first fill Oloroso sherry casks for 13 years, before being bottled at 40% ABV.
