Lark 30th Anniversary Whisky Celebration – Tasting When: Thursday 4th August 2022 Time: 7PM AEST Where: Video Conference In the late 1980s, Bill Lark asked the question that pioneered the future of whisky in Tasmania: why wasn’t anyone making single malt here? In 1992 Lyn and Bill Lark received the first Tasmanian distiller’s license granted in 154 years, and with a makeshift still on a kitchen table and courage and curiosity in equal measure, it unfurled into a quiet pursuit of the exceptional, and for 30 years Lark has defined what it means to be “Made of Tasmania”. The year is 2022, and we 30 Years of Tasmanian Whisky. We’ll be joined by Chris Thomson the Head Distiller and Blender at The Lark Distillery. There’s three things that go into making whisky, new make spirit, the barrel and then there’s the Head Distiller. The Head Distiller and the team represent Lark Distillery, its Jodi, Bec, Chris, Tiff, Ollie, such a wonderful team being led by Chris. It’s not just about making the whisky it’s about keeping your team together, making it a fun place to work and sharing your . It’s creating a place to evolve and experiment then finding a way to deliver this to the general public. Chris Thomson is the backbone of whisky production at the Lark Distillery and it’s wonderful he’s taken time to spend his evening with us and try some superb single malt whisky. You’ll have plenty of time to ask Chris questions at the end of the tasting and before hand you’ll enjoy six of their finest single malts produced in Tasmania.
