The criteria for selection include rarity and maturity, but above all flavour. These whiskies are both rare and sought-after – these very special casks are so rare that, on average, Adelphi accepts a mere 4% that it is offered. Each single cask of whisky matures its contents very differently, imparting its own character to the whisky it holds and, as a result, there are never two Adelphi’s quite the same. An independently bottled single malt from the Linkwood distillery which was distilled in 2008 and has spent 13 years in a first-fill Oloroso ex Sherry butt. Part of their summer 2021 releases. 586 bottles were produced at cask strength. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Rye malt, lemon citrus, thyme, dark caramel, raisins and banana fritters. Palate: Oily and buttery, toasted brown sugar, Valencia oranges, Cherry ripe and soft spice. Finish: Long with golden syrup, stewed cherries and perfectly balanced oak spice..
